What is Speech and Language?
Speech

According to the American Speech- Language - Hearing Association
( ASHA), Speech is how we say sounds and words. Speech includes:

Articulation- How you use your mouth, lips, and tongue to make sounds.

Fluency- Fluency is the rhythm of our speech.

Speech Disorders can include: trouble saying sounds and stuttering when speaking.
Language

According to the American Speech- Language- Hearing Association (ASHA), Language refers to the words we use and how we use them to share ideas and get what we want. Language also refers to understanding spoken language Language includes:​

Phonology- Is the sound system of a language and the rules that govern the sound combinations.
